Physical Therapy Services

Physical therapists are doctorate-level musculoskeletal experts who specialize in helping people improve their physical function and quality of life. In other words, we work with our patients to help them achieve their goals, whether that’s recovering from an illness, injury or surgery, reaching a new athletic level, or minimizing pain.

You can expect each physical therapy session to be between 60-90 minutes in length. The number of sessions you need depends on the reason you’re seeking care. We’ll work together to develop a personalized treatment plan that takes into account your specific needs.

Yes, but we do not have any translators or non-English speaking therapists on staff. Non-English speaking patients are required to bring their own translator to each appointment. The translator may be a friend or family member. We cannot treat patients we cannot effectively communicate with as it is unsafe for the patient.

No, you can make an appointment and be seen for evaluation without a physician referral.

Our clinic offers specialized care for oncology rehabilitation, lymphedema management, pelvic floor health, and chronic pain. Our health coaching services are offered separately from our physical therapy care.

Working with you and your medical provider, we can discuss your options and help determine if physical therapy will be the right choice for you. Contact us today to setup an initial examination to discuss your current condition.

Our scheduling is easy. We have morning and evening appointments available to meet the demands of your busy schedule. You can call us today at (830) 217-2956 or send us a message using our contact form here. If you request an appointment online, a member of our office staff will contact you for confirmation and to provide the additional information you will need.

In many cases, physical therapy is covered by insurance. However, coverage can vary depending on your plan and the type of treatment you are receiving. It’s always a good idea to check with your insurance provider to find out what your coverage is.

Currently, our clinic accepts Medicare and BCBS-TX. If your health coverage is through another insurance company, we are happy to provide you with a Superbill that you may use to file with your insurance company for reimbursement. Reimbursement rates for Out-of-network healthcare providers, including physical therapists, vary dependent upon the insurance company and coverage. Speak with your insurance company to learn the details of your specific plan.

For patients who do not have insurance, we offer a discounted fee, due at the time of service. Our rates are as follows:

  • 1-1/2 hour initial examination: $150
  • up to 60 minute follow-up appointments $90
  • 60 to 90 minute follow-up appointments $120

We require 24-hour notice for cancelled appointments. A no-show or canceled appointment with less than 24-hour notice will be charged a $75 late cancellation fee. The fee cannot be billed to insurance. If you are trying to contact us after hours or on the weekends to cancel or reschedule, you may leave a voicemail and you will not be assessed the late fee if you call with at least 24-hour notice. If a patient no-shows or late cancels three times, we reserve the right to discontinue treatment. Patients who are more than 15 minutes late to their appointment will be charged a cancellation fee and be required to reschedule their appointment.

We accept cash, check, debit card, and credit card. We are happy to discuss payment plan options as well. It is our policy that payment is made at the time of service. If you are using insurance benefits, they will be determined before your second visit, and you will be informed of what, if any, payment is necessary on that date.

Supporting and ensuring care for those who experience chronic illness is a priority. To make rehabilitation more affordable, there are scholarships available to assist those in need.  Please submit an application form found here.

Health Coaching Services

Health coaching is a confidential, non-judgmental, supportive partnership between you and a health coach. Personal well-being goals like better nutrition, exercise, stress management or improved sleep are achieved through habit and behavior change.

Our health coaches are licensed physical therapists, who are also certified through the Wellcoaches School of Coaching.

In traditional physical therapy visits, the therapist is the expert and designs a treatment plan to address a specific physical condition. In health coaching, you are the expert decision maker for your life; the health coach guides you in setting and reaching your goals. Your overall well-being, whether you are managing a medical condition or not, is the goal of health coaching.

Eating habits/nutrition, finances, health maintenance, life satisfaction, possible reduction of the medications you’re using, physical activity, sleep and relaxation, stress and weight management, relationships, spiritual practices, and mindset are all areas that you can discuss with a health coach. It’s your choice as to what you want to focus on to improve your well-being.

Health coaches do not function as medical providers. Any changes to your medication or treatment regimens should be discussed with and completed under the supervision of your medical provider(s).

There are no set number of visits;  however, meeting with your health coach on a regular basis will guide you along your journey to wellness. The duration of a health coaching program varies depending on your goals and preferences. Programs can range from a few weeks to several months. The duration can be discussed and determined with your health coach based on your individual circumstances and needs.

You and your health coach will uniquely tailor each session to meet your needs. Typically, a coaching session is 60 minutes in length.

You can meet with your health coach in-person, virtually, or by phone.

Any information shared during health coaching is confidential and kept secure. We follow HIPAA guidelines, which ensure the protection of privacy and your personal information. The only exception to this rule is if you may potentially harm yourself or another person.

Health coaching guides you in charting your path toward wellness. Your vision and goals are explored and are used to design a series of small, doable steps. These small steps compound to become long-lasting, meaningful and powerful changes. You will work with your coach to build on your strengths, identify new insights, and make progress at your own pace

Currently, we do not file with insurance companies for health coaching visits.

We offer 3 and 6 month one-on-one coaching packages. 3 month packages begin at $1500 and include 12 weekly, 60 minute sessions. 6 month packages begin at $3000 and include 24 weekly, 60 minute sessions. Speak with your coach to determine if you would benefit from adjustments to the frequency and duration of visits.

We accept cash, check, credit and debit card as payment.

Yes, but we do not have any translators or non-English speaking coaches on staff. Non-English speaking clients are required to bring their own translator to each visit. The translator may be a friend or family member. We cannot offer coaching services to to those we cannot effectively communicate with as it is unsafe for the client.

Your health coaching package includes the initial, one-on-one visit, and continued one-on-one support through weekly meetings plus unlimited email access, and educational resources and trackers, as needed. The number of weekly meetings is determined by the type of package you’ve enrolled.

Support Groups and Activities

A support group is a gathering of people who share common challenges, experiences, or health concerns. It is a safe and welcoming space where members can offer and receive mutual support, encouragement, and understanding.

Maintaining confidentiality is a fundamental and often central rule of support groups. Participants are expected to keep all discussions private. While a facilitator cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality from other members, groups generally find members to be very respectful of privacy. Information identifying other group members should not be disclosed outside of the meeting.

While both involve group settings, there are key differences:
  • Support group: Our groups are led by clinic staff (e.g. physical therapist, health coach), and are focused on shared life experiences and mutual support. These groups are free (donation funded) and have an indefinite number of sessions.
  • Group therapy: This type of group is led by a licensed mental health professional and centered on a clinical diagnosis or treatment goals. Therapy groups are generally structured with a set number of sessions and may require a fee, often covered by insurance.

We currently offer a Laughter Yoga Social Club, a Journal Club, Recreational Activities Club, and a variety of Condition-Specific Groups.

Each support group meets at differing times, throughout the week and year. Contact us at (830) 217-2956, or use the contact form here, to learn more about the current offerings and to sign up.

Each group is organized differently and is designed to offer unique benefits to it’s participants. Speak to our staff to learn more about the group you are interested in. Some questions you might consider asking are:

  • Does the group meet for a set period of time or does it keep going for an indefinite time?
  • Where does the group meet?
  • At what times and how often does the group meet?
  • Is there an organizer or moderator?
  • Has the organizer or moderator had training?
  • Is a mental health professional involved with the group?
  • What are the guidelines for keeping the group’s discussion private, also called confidentiality?
  • Are there basic rules for group participation?
  • Does the group fit my values?
  • What is a typical meeting like?
  • Is the group free, and if not, what are the fees? Does insurance cover it?
  • Is the group meant for people with a specific health condition, stage of a disease or life change?

There are no time or financial commitments required to participate in our support groups. Try a support group of your choosing for a couple of meetings to help you decide if you’d like to continue participating. You may attend as few or as many meetings as you’d like. If you find that one specific group doesn’t meet your needs, try another one!

Our support groups are donation funded and offered at no cost to you. Of course, if you’d like to make a donation to offset the cost of running the meetings (e.g. supplies, refreshments, etc.) we appreciate your generosity! But there is no request for, nor collection of fees. What is most important to us is that you are offered a safe and enjoyable space to build community and connection.
